How to Set Up Mina AI in 5 Minutes and Start Managing Your Diabetes Better Today

You’ve downloaded Mina AI. Excellent decision. Now let’s make sure you’re set up properly so the app can do everything it’s designed to do — including keeping you safe when your blood sugar gets dangerous.

This guide will walk you through the complete setup in under 5 minutes.

Step 1: Create Your Account (1 minute)

Open Mina AI and tap Create Free Account. You’ll need:

  • Your first and last name
  • Your email address
  • Your phone number (for OTP verification)
  • A password

Enter your phone number and tap Send Code. You’ll receive a 6-digit verification code. Enter it and tap Verify.

Step 2: Complete Your Health Profile (2 minutes)

This is the most important step. Your health profile tells Mina AI who you are and how to help you. Fill in:

  • Diabetes Type: Type 1, Type 2, Type 3c, Gestational, or LADA
  • Year Diagnosed: How long have you had diabetes?
  • Glucometer Brand: The brand of your glucose meter determines your measurement unit (mmol/L or mg/dL)
  • Insulin Brand: If you use insulin, select your brand
  • Morning and Evening Dose: Your prescribed insulin amounts
  • Doctor / Clinic: The name of your healthcare provider
  • Country: Used for location-based pharmacy search

Step 3: Add Emergency Contacts (1 minute)

This is what separates Mina AI from every other diabetes app. Go to Profile → Emergency Contacts and add up to 3 people who should be alerted if your blood sugar becomes dangerous.

For each contact, you need:

  • Their name
  • Their phone number
  • Their WhatsApp number (can be the same as phone number)
  • Their relationship to you (spouse, parent, child, friend, etc.)

Important: Tell your emergency contacts that you’ve added them to the app. They need to know they may receive WhatsApp alerts about your blood sugar.

Step 4: Log Your First Reading

Go to the Tracker tab and log your first blood sugar reading. Enter the number from your glucometer, select the timing (before breakfast, after lunch, etc.), and tap Log Reading.

Mina AI will immediately show you whether your reading is Normal, High, or Low — and if it’s in the danger zone, it will automatically alert your emergency contacts.

Step 5: Meet Mina in the Chat

Tap the Mina AI tab and say hello. Ask a question about your latest reading. Ask what you should eat for breakfast. Ask whether kenkey is safe for your diabetes type. Mina is ready to help — in your language, about your food, for your life.

Tips to Get the Most from Mina AI

  • Log every reading. The more data Mina has, the better your reports and trend analysis will be.
  • Enable notifications. Allow Mina AI to send push notifications so you receive check-in reminders.
  • Share your doctor report monthly. Generate a PDF report and send it to your doctor before each appointment.
  • Update your profile if your medication, insulin brand, or dose changes.

Mina AI is only as powerful as the information you give it. The more you use it, the better it protects you.
